The tight end landscape has taken many hits in fantasy football circles, including the George Kittle (hamstring) injury that sent him to injured reserve and several underperforming yet draft-day-expensive names.
Heavy investors on draft day at the position have indeed seen mixed results. In most fantasy leagues, tinkering with other options on the rise looks appealing.
What does this mean for Week 3 production from tight ends? We once again line up our favorite starts and fades below.

FIND THE BEST TE PICKUPS: Week 3 fantasy waiver wire
Who are the best fantasy tight ends for Week 3?
Assuming Brock Bowers (knee) is active for Week 2 and makes it through the game OK, he'll move up into the rankings to join Trey McBride and surging rookie Tyler Warren in Tier 1.
Statistical matchups elevate widely accepted TE1s Travis Kelce (at New York Giants), Dalton Kincaid (vs. Miami Dolphins), and Tucker Kraft (at Cleveland Browns) into the top half of the starting tiers.
Which fantasy TE sleepers should I start in Week 3?
- Kyle Pitts is "back" in the circle of "trust" -- more so because he's averaged 5.5 catches per game and gets to run routes against a weak Carolina Panthers secondary.
- Juwan Johnson's incredible touchdown catch in Week 2 teases the upside as arguably the top target for New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler. The 10.5-target average per game helps, too. The Seattle Seahawks even let a non-George Kittle tight end find the end zone against the 49ers in Week 1.
- The Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears meet in Week 3 and boast soft landing spots for TE production from Jake Ferguson and Colston Loveland, respectively. Both lack the secondaries to tame any focused use of the position.
