NFL DFS Week 4: DraftKings, FanDuel sleepers with value picks for daily fantasy lineups

Last week ranked as one of the highest-scoring weeks in NFL history, so DFS enthusiasts had a rollercoaster of a weekend. However, high-scoring daily fantasy lineups require a balance of proven weekly studs and under-the-radar sleepers. 

That's why this column gets crafted each week! We scour the DFS player pools, pinpoint the most overlooked and undervalued names from the main slate, and serve them up for you on a proverbial platter.

If you can't find the best deals, you probably won't win the big prizes. Let us do the research for you — we'll highlight the best players at every position on DraftKings and FanDuel, so you can create an optimal lineup and cash in on Sunday. 

Let's take a gander at our biggest hits last week, with each player's DK salary and ultimate Week 3 fantasy production:

Week 3 wasn't nearly the success that Week 2 turned out to be, but it's still a pretty good showing. We're particularly proud of our featured stars hitting for the third consecutive week. Caleb Williams, Jordan Mason, Kenneth Walker, George Pickens, Juwan Johnson and Washington D/ST were only featured in our writeup portion of last week's sleepers and values.

Best NFL DFS sleepers for Week 4: Quarterback

Caleb Williams, Bears at Raiders (DK: $5,800 | FD: $7,500)

We're going right back to the well with Williams, who enjoyed his best game as a pro last weekend vs. Dallas (19/28, 298 passing yards, 4 pass. TDs). 

This matchup is almost as friendly, as the Raiders D has been pretty rough. Watch for Williams to continue building on his connection with playmakers Rome Odunze, D.J. Moore and Luther Burden.

Geno Smith, Raiders vs. Bears (DK: $5,400 | FD: $7,200)

That's right — we picked both QBs from the same game as our featured value plays! Smith has been pretty bad so far, but he should enjoy a get-right game against a Bears D that has surrendered the third-most DK points to QBs this season.

Best NFL DFS sleepers for Week 4: Running back

Ashton Jeanty, Raiders vs. Bears (DK: $6,200 | FD: $6,800)

Jeanty has underwhelmed through three weeks, but mostly because Vegas in general has been awful. Now that he has dropped in price from $7,000 (Weeks 1 and 2) to $6,700 (Week 3) to $6,200 (this week), we have to buy in. 

This weekend's tilt with Chicago serves as his best breakout opportunity yet. The Bears have surrendered the sixth-most PPR points to running backs this season. Watch the rookie explode on Sunday. 

Omarion Hampton, Chargers at Giants (DK: $5,900 | FD: $7,000)

Hampton enjoyed a breakout game on Sunday against the Broncos, and the Chargers look like legitimate title contenders through three weeks. It's easy to envision the UNC product becoming a Rookie of the Year frontrunner. 

If the rookie back can accrue 129 all-purpose yards and a TD against Denver, imagine what kind of damage he can do to the Giants. New York has allowed 26.3 PPR points per game to running backs, fifth-most in the NFL this season.

Best NFL DFS sleepers for Week 4: Wide receiver

Rome Odunze, Bears at Raiders (DK: $6,300 | FD: $7,200)

So what if he's $6,300!? He's obviously not a sleeper anymore, but he's still a value at this price, especially stacked with his new BFF Caleb Williams.

The Raiders have given up the third-most PPR points to wide receivers this season, and Odunze has averaged a hair under 22 points per game so far. To the moon, Rome!

Tetairoa McMillan, Panthers at Patriots (DK: $5,900 | FD: $5,800)

Man, have we loaded up a ton of rookies in this week's column. But what's not to love about Tet this weekend!? The Pats have surrendered the seventh-most fantasy points to wideouts through three games, with opposing WR1s averaging 15.6 PPR points against them. 

Ricky Pearsall, 49ers vs. Jaguars (DK: $5,700 | FD: $6,300)

Remember when Mac Jones helped Brian Thomas Jr. mount a breakout season in Trevor Lawrence's absence? He's doing the same for Ricky Pearsall with Brock Purdy on the sidelines in Santa Clara.

Through three games, Pearsall has caught 16-of-24 targets for 281 yards. Imagine the gold rush when the touchdowns start coming.

Strange quietly hauled in 6-of-7 targets for 61 yards on Sunday, and now he faces a 49ers defense that has allowed Juwan Johnson and Trey McBride to each surpass 15 PPR points over the past two weeks.

Best NFL DFS sleepers for Week 4: D/ST

Los Angeles Rams vs. Colts (DK: $2,900 | FD: $3,900)

Many will be ambivalent to roll out the Rams against the Colts, who have been smoldering out of the gates with Daniel Jones under center. However, LA at home will be a tough go for Danny Dimes. 

Sean McVay's defense has racked up 12 sacks and four takeaways through three weeks — while allowing just 18.3 points per game — and LA nearly knocked off the Super Bowl-champion Eagles in Philly last weekend. The Rams seem like a prime candidate to stop Indy's momentum dead in its tracks.
