It's the fantasy football championship, and you desperately need a quarterback. Injury? Poor play? Whatever the reason, here are three early presents under the tree as we look at the top NFL Week 17 waiver wire QBs to target.
1. Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints (Ownership- 10% ESPN, 13% Yahoo!)
From Week 10 onward, Shough has popped off 17 or more fantasy points in all but one game. His arm talent continues to develop, and he adds some sneaky mobility, ranking third in QB rushing yards over the past month.
The rookie's delicious match-up Sunday comes against a Titans club that's given up the eighth most FPTs to quarterbacks. High floor, and a plus opponent means that Shough could be your fantasy championship savior.

2. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (Ownership- 51% ESPN, 66% Yahoo!)
Less waiver wire availability, but there is no hotter fantasy QB free agent than "Sunshine".
Lawrence has averaged 27.3-FPTs since Week 12 as the league's No. 1 fantasy quarterback. Leading the Jags to six straight wins backed by a 15-TD/3-INT ratio, he's got to be licking his chops for Sunday. "T-Law" has a sky high ceiling as Jacksonville faces a Colts defense that got shredded on Monday.
3. Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks (Ownership- 43% ESPN, 51% Yahoo!)
Will Sam Darnold turn into a pumpkin like he did last year in Minnesota? He's struggled in two of his past four, however, the impressive shootout OT win over the Rams in Week 16 cannot be overlooked. In those two good outings, the former first round pick did eclipse the 20-FPT mark each time.
The Seahawks head to battle a Panthers crew trying to lock up their division. There's a bit more boom or bust potential here, but ultimately Darnold still presents plenty of fantasy upside.
