The 2023 men's world champion is soon to be crowned. 

The World Men’s Curling Championship is closely approaching. Countries around the globe either are currently competing or have already concluded their national tournaments to determine who is getting the call to play on the world stage.

Canada has not won the event since 2017 when Brad Gushue's team defeated Niklas Edin's Sweden crew. Edin has won the last four consecutive men's world championships.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship. 

When is the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship?

  • Start: Saturday, April 1
  • End: Sunday, April 9

The 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship is set to start on Saturday, April 1 and run until Sunday, April 9. 

The round-robin goes from April 1 to April 7, with the playoffs beginning on April 8.

Where is the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship?

  • Venue: TD Place Arena
  • Location: Ottawa, Ont.

This year's world championship is being played in Canada's capital, Ottawa. 

The arena is the home of the Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League. It is also the former venue of the Senators, who played at the stadium from 1992 to 1995. 

Ottawa has never hosted the men's worlds before. Canada previously hosted the tournament in 2021 in Calgary. 

What channel is the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship on?

The 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship will be broadcast on TSN. The platform will have every round-robin game involving Canada, in addition to the playoffs.

Who is representing Canada at the 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship?

Brad Gushue and his team will be in Ottawa to represent Canada at the tournament, as they are the winners of the 2023 Tim Hortons Brier.
