Grid iron icon Tom Brady took to Instagram on Sunday to recognize all the special moms in his life.
The seven-time Super Bowl champ, who shares three children with two women, included snapshots that speak volumes about his modern family dynamic. One photo features Brady with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and their 17-year-old son, Jack. Another shows Jack alongside Gisele Bündchen and the two children she shares with Brady; Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12. A third image captures a sweet moment between Brady and his three sisters, Maureen, Julie, and Nancy — all moms themselves.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms I’m so lucky to have in my life,” Brady wrote.
Mother’s Day with two exes could be complicated. But he and Moynahan, who split in 2006 just before she gave birth to Jack, have kept things cordial and supportive over the years. And since finalizing his divorce from Bündchen in 2022 after 13 years of marriage, Brady has continued to publicly celebrate her role as a mother.
However, things got a little dicey around this time last year when Netflix aired “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady,” and at least one ex took offense to a few of the jabs.
Following the broadcast on May 5, 2024, a source told People magazine, Bündchen was"deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family.”
Last week, Brady addressed the fallout (again) on an episode of "Impaulsive," when he told hosts Logan Paul and Mike Majlak that while he personally enjoyed the roast, it came at a cost he didn’t fully anticipate.
“It’s tough on my kids, for sure,” Brady admitted. “I’ll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day… I felt like… a stake through the heart.”
The GOAT gives mom her moment
Of course, Brady didn’t forget the first, and perhaps most important, mom in his life. For Galynn Brady, the quarterback reserved his most sentimental words in a post to Instagram.
“Happy Mother’s Day to the strongest and most inspiring woman I know.," Brady wrote. "Your love is the foundation of our family! You’ve faced life’s toughest challenges with grace and determination, still always putting us first.”
"Thank you for being our rock and an example for your kids and grandkids, he continued. "We’re endlessly grateful for everything you’ve done and everything you continue to be. We love you more than words can say."
