One of boxing's top stars, Terence Crawford's resume is something to marvel at. The four-weight, two-weight undisputed champion has beaten some of the sport's best and is a knockout artist, with 31 of his 41 wins coming via the power punch.
After beating long-time rival Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023 to clean up at 147 pounds, Crawford stepped up to super welterweight and beat WBA champion Israil Madrimov last year.
That paved the way for a September 13 superfight against the undisputed super middleweight king Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Here is all you need to know about "Bud" Crawford, including how he may have got his nickname.
Why is Terence Crawford called "Bud"? Nickname explained
There has never been a clear answer provided as to why Crawford's nickname is "Bud".
Per an Omaha native on a Boxing News 24 forum, "In the United States, particularly years ago, particularly in rural areas (like Omaha), the oldest boy was always nicknamed Bud, and the oldest daughter was nicknamed Sis".
Terence Crawford record, bio
A 2006 Golden Gloves silver medalist, Crawford started boxing at a young age. Turning pro in 2008, the Omaha, Nebraskan-born fighter beat Brian Cummings via first-round knockout.
Crawford earned his first piece of gold in 2014 when he beat Ricky Burns for the WBO lightweight title. In 2015, he beat Thomas Dulorme for the WBO super lightweight belt. Following that fight, "Bud" beat Viktor Postol for the WBC belt and Julius Indongo in 2017 to become the undisputed champion. He then moved on to welterweight in 2018, where his legend grew.
Against Jeff Horn, Crawford knocked out the man who beat Manny Pacquiao to become WBO welterweight champion. He defended that title six times, beating the likes of Jose Benavidez Jr., Amir Khan, Kell Brook, Shawn Porter and David Avanesyan.
Years of Crawford and Spence circling one another finally ended in their undisputed welterweight clash. A contest many anticipated would unfold as a 50-50 affair turned into a one-sided beatdown as Crawford turned in the performance of his career.
If there is one frustration surrounding Crawford's majestic career it's a lack of activity. His win over Madrimov to become a four-weight world champion was his only bout of 2024 and the Canelo clash will almost certainly be his lone outing of 2025. He last fought twice in a calendar year in 2019.
