Caitlin Clark knows basketball.
And so on Monday, when she spoke with reporters and revealed who she believes the NBA's greatest player of all time to be, it was a key moment in the Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James GOAT debate.
Clark's take?
King James above all.
"That's one of my idols," Clark said. "LeBron is the GOAT to me."
She went on to praise LeBron's support of the WNBA.
"He really does follow the WNBA," she said. "He watches, and he loves and appreciates basketball, and he loves and appreciates the way the Fever and my teammates play."

Clark, one of the greatest passers on the planet, certainly must appreciate LeBron's ability to be both a record-setting scorer and a legendary distributor.
James spent the weekend tweeting about Clark as she and the Fever opened the season with a resounding win over the Chicago Sky.
And now you can score one for the King, who can count one of women's basketball's brightest stars in his support group.
James, 40, began his NBA career when Clark was just 1 year old. She's gotten to spend her whole life growing up as a basketball player watching LeBron play.
Clearly, he left an imprint on Clark, and it finds its way onto the court every time she plays.
