Run Clubs have become one of Australia's favourite pastimes, bringing together local communities of all ages and demographics.

AllSportsPeople visited four different clubs around Australia, from Canberra to Sydney, the Gold Coast, and Melbourne, to explore what makes these communities so special.

From running to improve mental health to creating healthy community engagement and providing safe spaces for women to run in groups, Runners High takes you inside these four clubs and the inspiring stories behind them.

EPISODE 1: RUNNING FOR RESILIENCE - CANBERRA

Led by former Australian Wallaby Ben Alexander, Running for Resilience in Canberra is on a mission to not only provide a space for people to come and run, but also raise awareness about mental health and create access to support.

The run club started as a group of 25 people and has now grown to as many as 500 participants, coming together to be healthy and striving towards their goal of a suicide free ACT.

EPISODE 2: CONCEPT TRACK CLUB - SYDNEY

Concept Track Club isn't your typical run club, hosting their runs at the Sylvania Waters Athletics track.

While most run clubs embark on a straight 5-10km run, the team at Concept is utilising high-intensity interval training splits for optimal training for a variety of sports, including gymnastics, rugby league, and Hyrox.

EPISODE 3: SANA DAYS - GOLD COAST

Sana Days has fast become a pillar of the Gold Coast community, bringing people together to support mental health through movement.

When club founder Brock Day lost his father to suicide in 2013, he turned to exercise to help his mental health, and after seeing the benefits, he opened it up to the wider community to try and help as many people as possible.

EPISODE 4: RUN LIKE A GIRL - MELBOURNE

Run Like A Girl has been running in Melbourne for the past eight years, fostering a safe environment for women to run and stay fit.

Being a women's-only run club has created a community for women to achieve their goals, improve their fitness and do so in a supportive environment, where their safety is at the forefront.
