A record number of fans have attended the 2024 Australian Open, aided by the addition of an extra day to the start of the event.

Last year, 839,192 fans went through the gates at Melbourne Park, but this figure has now been crushed, with the crowd total surpassing the one million mark.

Australian Open rain policy: Which courts have roofs?

Three venues at Melbourne Park have roofs – Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and Melbourne Arena.

These roofs can be closed in the event of rain or extreme heat.
