Despite the Broncos pulling off a major upset to claim the 2025 NRLW premiership, the victory was overshadowed by a melee after the full time siren had sounded.

Brisbane secured a 22-18 win, but as referee Belinda Sharpe blew her whistle, a brawl started involving Roosters back-rower Aliyah Nasio and three Broncos players.

Speaking after the game in his post-match press conference, coach John Strange admitted that he hadn't witnessed the incident, but believed that at the very least there was some "push and shove."

"I'm not actually sure what happened," said Strange.

"I was walking down to the field at that time.

"There was a bit of push and shove and they got in each other's faces.

"We will find out a bit later."

On Nine's coverage, commentator Brenton Speed renounced the behaviour after such an intense back-and-forth contest.

"Oh, we don't need this flashpoint after full-time, as tempers flare," he said.

Scott Prince and the trio of Brisbane players available during the press conference, echoed the sentiment of the Roosters' camp, suggesting that it was not wise to comment on the situation at this stage before all the details come to light.

Despite the controversy, Prince was overjoyed by how his team performed during the 80-minutes.

"I had the confidence in them that they can give themselves another opportunity," Prince said.

"All that training, all that stress, was for this game."
