South Sydney initially made a pleasing start to the season after welcoming Wayne Bennett back to the helm, but it's since turned into a nightmare amid a horror injury toll.
The Rabbitohs languished near the bottom of the ladder throughout last season as Bennett's protégé Jason Demetriou was axed from his position midway through the dire period.
Bennett guided the Bunnies to the grand final during his previous last year in charge and was tasked with revitalising the club, but the veteran coach has also found things tough going at Redfern.
