The Cronulla Sharks have reached an agreement with Blayke Brailey on a contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the end of 2030.
The 26-year-old has played 160-games for the club and has assumed the captaincy duties ahead of the finals campaign due to the incumbent Cam McInnes rupturing his ACL three-weeks ago.
The AAP reported that Brailey and his management had entered negotiations with Cronulla hoping for a five-year deal.

Instead, powerbrokers at the Sharks countered with a three-year offer, before a middle-ground was reached and a four-year contract had been agreed upon.
"It's no secret how I feel about this place. And I know the club knows how I feel about the future here and where I want to be," said Brailey.
Growing up as a junior footballer in the Shire, Brailey was one of the most highly touted local products to come through Cronulla's pathways system.
The hype around him was such that the club moved his older brother Jayden on to the Knights in 2019, making way for the young prodigy.
Now, Brailey will look to repay the faith that the Sharks have shown in him by leading them to their second premiership in club history.
"I know what this team and this club has coming in the next few years. To be a part of that is special and I feel really grateful to call this place home for a lot longer," said Brailey in a statement released by the club.
