NRL pin-up boy Reece Walsh has caused quite a stir on his return to Broncos pre-season training thanks to a series of ‘thirst trap’ social media posts.

According to Brisbane head coach Michael Maguire the 23-year-old is indeed in great shape ahead of the 2026 NRL season—albeit perhaps not quite as great as the now-viral photos might suggest.

Well-known for his love of a prank, the 2025 Clive Churchill Medalist told his 662,000 Instagram followers he was ‘looking better than I’m feeling’ whilst standing in nothing but his green and gold budgie smugglers.

Follow up posts again showed the Broncos and Kangaroos custodian topless and sporting a ripped six-pack, prompting plenty of fans to suggest some light-hearted AI manipulation may be at play.

Loved and loathed in equal measure, the star’s ability to draw attention to himself is already legendary and it seems Walsh is determined to remain one of the most marketable commodities in Australian sport in 2026.

Walsh and his abs will depart for the UK in February along with the rest of Broncos in preparation for the 2026 World Club Challenge against Hull KR at MKM Stadium on February 19.
