Peter V'Landys has sensationally claimed R360 participants might not get their contracts paid in the latest salvo fired at the breakaway competition.
Eels star Zac Lomax became the latest star to organise a release from their NRL contract to reportedly play in the new league - with Storm gun Ryan Papenhuyzen making a similar move earlier this month.
When asked of his thoughts about players joining R360, the ARL Commission boss stated he was unsure they would receive their financial compensation - specifically mentioning Lomax and Papenhuzen.
"I just feel very sorry for the players … They are being hung out to dry," V’landys said to CODE Sports.

"I have nothing against the players. They are being used as guinea pigs. I hope they get their money upfront and bank guarantees.
"Anyone can make promises. Can they deliver them? I feel sorry for Zac Lomax and Ryan Papenhuyzen.
"Where is the duty of care? Who has done that for them? Where is the due diligence? I stand by what I said – it’s out of a Cornflakes box."
V'Landys reiterated that NRL players who break their contract to join R360 will be banned for 10 years - a stipulation that won't apply to players such as Lomax and Papenhuyzen who organised a mutual termination of their NRL club contract.
"As custodians of the game, we have to protect the fans. The fans want us to do something," he said.
"We will be very strong. They are jeopardising their careers in the NRL for something they know nothing about."
V'Landys also promised to speak to Broncos star Payne Haas - who has been linked with a move to the rebel league.
The official revealed he had been personally requested to speak to the prop.
"I will speak to Payne because I have been asked to,", V’landys said.
"At the moment I am letting him have a break. I am letting him have some peace and quiet, but I will be talking to him."
