Parramatta Eels captain Mitchell Moses has thrown his support behind the club’s pursuit of Melbourne Storm halfback Jonah Pezet, despite reports of an unusual one-year deal that would see the young playmaker head to the Brisbane Broncos in 2027.
According to reports, the young playmaker is set to join the Eels for the 2026 season before heading north to link up with the Brisbane Broncos on a long-term deal starting in 2027.
As Parramatta farewells their long-time five-eighth Dylan Brown following his blockbuster move to the Newcastle Knights, 22-year-old Jonah Pezet is expected to step into the temporary halves role as the Eels continue to develop their next generation of young talent.
Speaking from London ahead of the first Ashes Test against England on Sunday, Moses welcomed news of Pezet’s potential arrival, describing him as a strong addition to the Eels’ roster.

"If he wants to join us, he'd be a great addition. He was playing some really good footy at Melbourne towards the end of the year," Moses told 9News Sydney.
"He's got a footy head on him it looks like and directs the boys around the field pretty well so we'll have to see what happens but I think he'd be a great addition to our club.”
Also a potential future teammate after Pezet’s one-year stint with the Eels, Brisbane Broncos powerhouse Patrick Carrigan endorsed the move, noting that a season alongside Mitchell Moses would only elevate Pezet’s game.
"The prospect of having someone like Jonah at the club I think (is great), he's a tremendous player, he's been in a great system and watching him learn off guys like Cam Munster and Jahrome Hughes speaks for itself," Carrigan told the media outlet.
"I think there might be a bit in the works that he's going to have 12 months under Mitchell Moses as well, and I know we're getting a quality player there and adds a lot of depth to our roster."
