NRL judiciary: Dragons forward Tariq Sims facing 1-2 weeks following dual sin-bins image

Dragons forward Tariq Sims will escape with just one match on the sidelines, despite being sin-binned twice during the side's loss to the Broncos.

Sims was sent to the bin for 10 minutes early in the 32-18 defeat, after a late hit on Broncos halfback Adam Reynolds, before being marched again for a high shot on Rhys Kennedy.

The 32-year-old has been charged by the match review committee for both incidents, but will only miss a maximum of two games.

Sims has been hit with a grade one dangerous contact for the tackle on Reynolds, which will only incur a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea or $1500 if he fights the charge and loses.

The second-rower will however face a suspension for the tackle on Kennedy, with a grade two careless high tackle worth a one-game ban with the early plea. If he fights that charge and loses, Sims will miss two games.

Reynolds told the media after the game that he was expecting a barrage from the Red V forwards, given the public knowledge of his rib injury.

“Got me a bit by surprise, a bit of whiplash...more of a stinger," he said.

"It was important to stay out there and use my voice, the second one wasn’t much in it.

“I expect it - coming off an injury, teams are well prepared, teams know I am the main kicker of the ball."

Dragons coach Anthony Griffin however denied his side were instructed to target the champion halfback.

“We didn’t have a tactic to tackle him late or have someone in the sin-bin," Griffin said.

"Like any half you play against, you want to take their time away. Unfortunately, we gave away two or three penalties and copped 20 minutes in the sin-bin for it.

"We’re certainly not out there trying to foul him or attack him in any way."
