Jesse Ramien could be on the way out of Cronulla, with the Sharks reportedly open to moving the powerful centre as salary cap pressure continues to mount.
Despite being contracted until the end of 2026, Ramien has been granted permission to negotiate with rival clubs while Cronulla manages its tight roster situation following a preliminary final finish.
The Sharks already struggled to retain fullback Will Kennedy, with limited funds preventing them from offering more than a modest one-year deal to the long-time No. 1.
Now, up to six clubs are believed to have shown interest in Ramien, with the Gold Coast Titans among those linked to the 28-year-old, according to recent reports from The Courier Mail.

The Titans have reportedly been offered Ramien’s services and are considering a move as they prepare for life under new head coach Josh Hannay, who previously worked alongside Ramien at the Sharks.
Since debuting in 2017, Ramien has played 153 NRL games and has been a reliable performer for Cronulla.

The Indigenous All Stars representative earns around $500,000 a season — fair market value for a centre in today’s game, with quality options in that position in short supply.
While Ramien is happy at Cronulla and content to see out his deal next year, he’s realistic about the likelihood of a move given the club’s cap constraints and emerging backline depth.
The Perth Bears are also expected to keep a close eye on his situation, with the expansion club set to enter the player market from November 1 ahead of their 2027 NRL debut.
For now, Ramien remains a Shark, but with growing external interest and Cronulla’s cap squeeze, his long-term future in the Shire is far from certain.
All of a sudden, it’s the Sharks being circled — and despite Ramien’s tenure, the salary-cap relief his exit would provide could tempt the club to cut bait.
