Manly are set to break new ground in 2026 by adding a leading former AFL coach to their staff, a move designed to improve both their leadership and kicking game.

With the towering bomb becoming one of rugby league’s deadliest attacking weapons in recent seasons, clubs are increasingly focused on perfecting their aerial game. Placement, timing, and precision have never been more vital

The Sea Eagles have secured former Carlton and Port Adelaide performance guru Aaron Greaves in a newly created Head of Coaching and Leadership role.

Greaves, who also played for Geelong during his AFL career, brings with him a wealth of experience in skill development, performance culture, and high-ball techniques, traits that could prove invaluable in the modern NRL.

Manly believe Greaves’ cross-code expertise can give them a unique edge.

He is expected to work closely with new halfback Jamal Fogarty and winger Jason Saab, with the duo tipped to form a dangerous kick-catch combination under Greaves’ guidance.

“We think he could be great for us,” a Sea Eagles source told Wide World of Sports.
