Australian winger Josh Addo-Carr is set to turn his back on free agency—and a lucrative potential payday with the Perth Bears—to recommit to Jason Ryles and Parramatta for another NRL season.

According to reports in the Sydney Morning Herald, the 30-year-old known as the ‘Foxx’ will remain at the Eels until at least the end of 2027 after agreeing to a one-year extension.

Widely regarded as of rugby league’s fastest players and best finishers, Addo-Carr’s NRL career came crashing down when he was sacked by the Bulldogs at the end of the 2024 season following an off-field incident.

He was then thrown a lifeline in 2025 by first-year Eels coach Jason Ryles who had previously worked with Addo-Carr at the Melbourne Storm.

Addo-Carr repaid his new coach’s faith, delivering one of the best seasons of his 10-year NRL career, scoring 19 tries and finishing fourth on the try-scoring list behind Sydney Roosters winger Mark Nawaqanitawase.

His form was rewarded with a late call-up to the Australian Kangaroos squad for the recently-completed Ashes tour to England, where he played all three Test matches and scored one try in the absence of injured Origin duo Xavier Coates and Zac Lomax.

With the young Parramatta Eels squad very much on the rise under the leadership of Ryles and inspirational captain Mitchell Moses, there’s every reason to expect Addo-Carr will add many more tries to his NRL career tally (currently 159, equal 10th on the all-time list) in 2026 and 2027.

He’ll be 32 when his next contract renewal comes around.
