After a two-season run in Newcastle, Jack Cogger is returning to Penrith, having previously spent the 2023 campaign with the Panthers.

The 28-year-old playmaker is no stranger to switching between the clubs, startin his career with the Knights, before joining Canterbury, and then Huddersfield in the Super League, ahead of his first stint at the Panthers.

That proved a successful one for Cogger, who came off the bench in Penrith's three-peat-completing 2023 grand final victory over the Broncos.

Cogger played 36 first-grade games in the interim for Newcastle, primarily at halfback this season as the club searched for its best spine combination.

Panthers GM of football Shane Elford spoke about his return to the club.

“We’re excited to have Jack return to the club,” Elford said.

“Not only does he bring valuable experience and depth in the halves, but he’s also a terrific person who contributes strongly to the culture and standards we set at Panthers.

“He knows what it takes to succeed here, and we’re confident he’ll make a positive impact both on and off the field.”

With Brad Schneider confirmed to be joining the Dolphins for 2026, Cogger gives Penrith extra depth in their halves behind Nathan Cleary and Blaize Talagi.
