Michael Maguire and the Brisbane Broncos could be set for an unexpected boost to their 2025 premiership charge with news that two injured stars are back in training far earlier than expected.
While captain Adam Reynolds had already returned to the training paddock ahead of Round 26, the Courier Mail reports that five-eighth Ezra Mam and winger Selwyn Cobbo are now also ramping-up their rehabilitations from serious hamstring injuries.
Both players were initially considered to be out for the rest of 2025.
While still training away from the main Broncos squad, Mam and Cobbo were spotted taking part in passing and running drills on Wednesday morning, raising hopes of a potential return to the field this season.

Not without some irony, Reynolds, Mam and Cobbo all went down in the Round 23 match against the Melbourne Storm—the same opponents the Broncos will face again on Thursday night at Suncorp Stadium.
While none of the injured trio is expected to play in Round 27, Reynolds is believed to be a strong chance of featuring in the first week of the NRL finals series despite rumours of a training setback last week.
The deeper the Broncos go into September, the better the chances of Mam and Cobbo also being available for selection.
Of course given the high stakes, whether Michael Maguire actually selects the pair after weeks out is another issue entirely.
