Out of favour Dragons halfback Lachlan Ilias is reportedly on the verge of leaving the St George Illawarra Dragons.
Ilias remains contracted to the Dragons for next season but has struggled for consistent game time, featuring in just seven matches this past season for the Red V.
It has previously been reported that with Daniel Atkinson, Kyle Flanagan and Lykhan King-Togia competing for the 2026 halves spots, the club would be open to granting a release for the former Rabbitoh.
According to CODE Sports, Ilias has now agreed in principle to a two-year contract with the Gold Coast Titans from 2026, with the deal expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.
The Titans identified the skilful playmaker as an ideal addition to strengthen their halves rotation following the retirement of champion half Kieran Foran, with Ilias set to add valuable depth to their roster.

The potential signing of Ilias is not expected to impact the Titans’ push to re-sign Jayden Campbell, who remains their number one priority this offseason after a breakout year.
While Ilias struggled for NRL minutes in his first season at the Dragons, he was instrumental in leading the club’s NSW Cup side to the grand final, and at just 25 years of age, his best football appears still to come.
With 60 NRL appearances and experience guiding South Sydney to the 2022 preliminary final, the playmaker is viewed by the Titans as a key piece of their 2026 campaign under new head coach Josh Hannay.
It marks a fresh start for Ilias, who will be aiming to earn a starting spot come Round 1 of the 2026 season at the Titans.
