Cronulla were looking to claim another top four finish as they pressed their claims at being a genuine premiership contender following their acquistition of Addin Fonua-Blake.
The Sharks faced a tricky start to the campaign, with plenty of travel on the cards for Craig Fitzgibbon's outfit.
Yet they managed to navigate the period relatively well to leave themselves with a great chance of finishing the season strongly.
