Cam Munster admits he would ‘love to’ play in the Super League image

Cameron Munster has opened the door to a future Super League move, revealing he’s fallen in love with England and could see himself taking the field there one day.

Fresh off a starring role for the Kangaroos in the opening Ashes Test, the Melbourne Storm half admitted that while he remains committed to the NRL for now, the idea of playing in England “is something I’d love to do”.

“I love the way the English go about their footy”

Speaking to the BBC, Munster praised the growth of the English game and even name-checked the London Broncos as a club he’s keeping an eye on. “I love England, the only thing about England I don’t like is the traffic,” he said.

“I love London, obviously it’s a bit unfortunate that the London Broncos couldn’t get in the Super League this year, but I’m sure they’ll be knocking down the door. This reminds me so much of Melbourne.”

Munster said the competitiveness and physical edge of English rugby league suited his playing style. “If I got the opportunity to. I love the way the English go about their footy, I love the grind, I love running obviously into the big boys, I get flogged all the time, but I just love that contact and the competitiveness,” he said.

“The footy’s getting better and better every time I come and watch these English players play, it’s a great spectacle over here in England, and look, I’d love to come over here and play, but at the same time there’s some big boys out there.”
