Brisbane have pieced together two wins on the bounce as they have recovered from their loss to Melbourne, which also saw them lose Selwyn Cobbo, Ezra Mam and Adam Reynolds to injuries.

The Broncos are still a chance of qualifying for a top four spot on the ladder, so will be looking for another win when they take on North Queensland.

Michael Maguire's side put Newcastle to the sword last week and they will be hoping for a repeat performance and result in Townsville.

Broncos latest team news:

Brisbane piled on the points against a hapless Newcastle outfit last weekend and Michael Maguire has made minimal changes for their trip to Townsville.

Brendan Piakura has missed the past month after suffering a concussion in training. However, he has been named to return via the bench this week, with Jesse Arthars dropping to 18th man.

Adam Reynolds is nearing a return from a hamstring injury and could be a late addition this week after the halfback was included in the extended squad.

Meanwhile, Xavier Willison, Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam are all still confined to the casualty ward, with the latter two not likely to play again this season.

UPDATE:

Reynolds has suffered an injury setback in training ahead of Brisbane's clash and has been sidelined again.
