Reece Walsh has followed up his viral toilet video with another cheeky post on social media.

The Broncos fullback shared a photo of his dog inside Bunnings in front of a sign reading “Thru to plumbing.”

He also updated his Instagram profile picture to one of himself dressed as a plumber.

It comes amid reports Brisbane are considering ways to manage the public image of their $5 million superstar.

Broncos respond to Walsh’s antics

According to Code Sports, club bosses have spoken privately to Walsh about his online behaviour, which has included a string of controversial posts in 2025.

While the club released a statement following Monday’s toilet video, Walsh appeared unfazed as he doubled down with humour less than 24 hours later.

It is not the first time Broncos chiefs have had to intervene, with Walsh previously drawing headlines for a boxing glove video involving a friend and a fiery exchange with media regarding teammate Ezra Mam.

PR handler suggested

On NRL 360, host Braith Anasta revealed Brisbane may look at hiring extra support to protect Walsh’s brand.

“The Broncos have suggested he may need his own PR handler, he’s so popular, he has a huge following on YouTube, Instagram,” Anasta said.

“He is a rock star really of our game. Are they saying he needs someone by his side 24/7 so he doesn’t do things like this again?”

Michael Carayannis from The Daily Telegraph added: “I think there is someone that works closely with him on his image… but in terms of an out and out handler, he has got to the stage where there has to be someone safeguarding what he is posting.”

Huge profile brings pressure

Walsh has more than 540,000 Instagram followers and launched his own YouTube channel earlier this year, making him one of the most marketable players in the NRL.

But former stars argue the balance between content and professionalism remains tricky.

“He needs better friends around him,” Gorden Tallis said.

“He does a lot for his image, but then it’s just putting the phone down when he has his private time.”

Fox League’s Dan Ginnane said it is common for athletes to hand over social media to professionals.

“Hiring social media managers to run your social media accounts is pretty normal,” Ginnane said.

“I’m guessing what has happened is he feels a pressure to put content out there, and thought he’d just be funny.”

Broncos keen to avoid distraction

Brisbane officials are understood to be supportive of Walsh engaging with fans online but want to ensure it doesn’t impact the club’s culture.

With finals looming, the Broncos are determined to keep their marquee fullback’s focus on the field - even if his sense of humour continues to spill over onto social media.
