Super Rugby star Christian Lealiifano has been diagnosed with Leukaemia following a brief illness.

The Brumbies informed fans of the news on Saturday morning, asking for privacy and respect for their 28-year-old playmaker.

Following a brief illness, investigations have indicated Lealiifano has been diagnosed with Leukaemia and is receiving further management.

Brumbies interim Chief Executive, Phil Thomson, said it was too early at this stage to comment much further.

Lealiifano has played 117 games for the Brumbies and represented Australia on 19 occasions.
