Seahawks single-season receiving record: How Jaxon Smith-Njigba needed just 11 games to set franchise mark image

When the Seattle Seahawks shipped out DK Metcalf last offseason, they signalled their belief in Jaxon Smith-Njigba taking another leap. He's done that, and then some, in 2025.

Smith-Njigba had yet another dominant outing in Week 12, posting 167 yards and two touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans. Seattle's WR1 came into the week with a lead of over 200 yards as the NFL's receiving leader — and he won't be surrendering that lead after his performance against Tennessee.

In the process of his huge Week 12 game, Smith-Njigba made Seahawks history by already breaking Metcalf's team single-season receiving yards record. Through 11 matchups, Smith-Njigba remains on pace to challenge NFL history.

Here's a look at Jaxon Smith-Njigba's huge numbers this season, including his new Seahawks record and his 2025 pace.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba stats

In Week 12 against the Titans, Smith-Njigba finished with eight catches for 167 yards. It was his 11th consecutive game to open 2025 in which he had at least 75 receiving yards — an accolade that only he has accomplished.

In his 11 games this season, Smith-Njigba has also had eight with at least 100 receiving yards.

The Seahawks star added two touchdowns against Tennessee as well, with the first being a 63-yard strike from Sam Darnold. It was Smith-Njigba's longest catch of the season.

The second score was a 13-yard snag, as Darnold found him in the back of the end zone.

With 11 full games in the rearview mirror for Smith-Njigba, he's made an argument as the NFL's best receiver right now. In total, Smith-Njigba now has 80 catches for 1,313 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He leads the league in receiving yards, and he's already surpassed his 2024 career-high total of 1,130 yards.

Seahawks single-season receiving leaders

It took Smith-Njigba just 11 games to break the Seahawks' single-season receiving record, doing so in Week 12 against the Titans. He surpassed the mark of 1,303 yards set by his former teammate, Metcalf, in 2020.

While Smith-Njigba is now Seattle's single-season receiving leader with plenty of room to build upon his lead, other names at the top of the list include Steve Largent, Koren Robinson and Darrell Jackson.

NFL single season receiving record

The NFL's single-season receiving yards record is 1,964 yards, set by Calvin Johnson in 2012 with the Detroit Lions. More recently, Cooper Kupp challenged that record but came up short in 2021 for the Los Angeles Rams, totalling 1,947 receiving yards.

Through 11 games played, Smith-Njigba is on pace to finish with 2,029 yards through 17 games — which would be the most in NFL history.
