The San Francisco 49ers suffered their first loss of the season in Week 4 when they fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but that wasn’t the only issue to come out of the game.
Quarterback Brock Purdy, who returned to the field after missing the previous two weeks with an injury, reportedly aggravated the injury during the game. With San Francisco set to face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, Purdy and the rest of the 49ers face a quick turnaround.
Here’s the latest on Purdy’s status for this week.

Is Brock Purdy playing this week?
After San Francisco’s loss to the Jaguars, Purdy felt toe soreness that puts his status this week in question. The 49ers quarterback was listed as did not practice on Monday, as he wouldn’t have been able to participate if San Francisco had held a session.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said the team was still evaluating Purdy’s injury, but the short week will make it a tough turnaround.
"Anytime you have a Thursday game, it's a totally different element," he said, via ESPN. "So, I'm concerned with anybody who's not totally healthy at this moment, but we'll have to get more information on that later today to really have a clue of what to speculate."
If Purdy can't go, backup quarterback Mac Jones will make his third start of the season.
