TL;DR

  • Aaron Rodgers will start at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Buffalo Bills.
  • Rodgers returns after missing one game due to a fractured left wrist on his non-throwing hand.
  • A Steelers victory would give them sole control of the AFC North title.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are heavily involved in the AFC North and AFC wild card competition, and before Week 13, their key quarterback will be returning.

Coach Mike Tomlin told reporters announced Friday that Aaron Rodgers, sidelined for Week 12 due to a wrist injury, is set to start Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers has achieved over 66% pass completion this season across 10 games, accumulating nearly 2,000 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. A victory this Sunday would allow the Steelers to regain sole control of the AFC North following the Baltimore Ravens's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.

Here's the latest on Rodgers' return.

Will Aaron Rodgers be on the field this week?

Tomlin announced that Rodgers is slated to return for Sunday's matchup with The Bills, following his absence in Week 12.

Rodgers has been cleared to play this Sunday after missing a game due to a fractured left wrist, which is on his non-throwing hand. He was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday, leading coach Mike Tomlin to say it's "all systems go" for his return.

Rodgers will be the starting quarterback for the game against the Buffalo Bills, marking his return after missing one game.

Aaron Rodgers sustained an injury.

During the Steelers' Week 11 matchup with The Cincinnati Bengals, Rodgers suffered a broken left wrist, which is his non-throwing arm. This injury caused the quarterback to sit out the subsequent game, a defeat against the Chicago Bears in Week 12. While the fracture isn't displaced and doesn't necessitate an operation, the primary worry was his ability to safeguard himself and perform adequately with the injury, resulting in a "questionable" designation for the game he missed.

After a week of rehabilitation, Rodgers fully engaged in practice on Thursday and Friday, signaling considerable advancement in his healing process. Tomlin has since announced that Rodgers will not carry an injury tag for the forthcoming match and affirmed his clearance to rejoin the starting roster.

The experienced signal-caller will be under center for The Steelers when they host the Buffalo Bills in their Week 13 matchup.
