The Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7’s edition of “Thursday Night Football.” The game was affectionately called the “Icy Hot Bowl” because it featured 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers facing 40-year-old Joe Flacco.
While it seemed the Steelers would have an easier game because Flacco had been with Cincinnati for only 10 days, the matchup was back and forth from start to finish. In the fourth quarter alone, there were three total touchdowns and two field goals before the dust finally settled on Cincinnati’s 33-31 win.
There was plenty to talk about from this game — from Flacco and Rodgers’ statistical duel to wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase’s 16 receptions, a new team record. On Pittsburgh’s last scoring drive, a post-touchdown celebration video went viral because of an interaction between Rodgers and his 311-pound offensive tackle, Broderick Jones.

Here is more on why Rodgers was furious with Jones after a late touchdown.
Why was Aaron Rodgers mad at Broderick Jones following a Steelers TD?
Rodgers had just connected with tight end Pat Freiermuth on a 68-yard touchdown pass.

It helped the Steelers take a 31-30 lead late. The defense couldn’t stop Flacco and the Bengals from mounting a last-second comeback, but the highlight came after Freiermuth’s touchdown.
Rodgers performed a celebration from the Super Mario video games, appearing to jump with one knee up and his elbow flexed, as if he were about to hit a coin block in the game. Afterward, he was taken down from behind. It wasn’t an intentional late hit — unfortunately, it was his 311-pound offensive tackle, Broderick Jones, who accidentally knocked him down.
The 41-year-old Rodgers was livid, which is understandable. It was clearly an accident, but being unexpectedly tackled by a 311-pound teammate at his age could have caused a serious injury. Rodgers later threw a 65-70 yard Hail Mary, so he appears to be fine overall, though he’ll likely feel it the next day.
It’s worth noting that Cincinnati didn’t sack Rodgers and registered only two quarterback hits. You could argue that the biggest hit he took all night came from his own teammate.
