Who is doing the Super Bowl halftime show 2026?

The NFL announced Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 60 halftime performer on Sept. 28:

Who is Bad Bunny?

A renowned rapper and producer originally from Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny is one of the most popular musicians in Latin America and beyond. He commands a massive social media following, with nearly 50 million Instagram followers, and has three Grammy Awards in addition to eight Billboard Music awards.

Bad Bunny has released six albums, including Debí Tirar Más Fotos earlier in 2025. While he first rose to fame in Latin America and much of his work is in Spanish, he has twice hosted "Saturday Night Live" and made a cameo appearance in "Happy Gilmore 2."

"What I'm feeling goes beyond myself. It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown," Bad Bunny said in the NFL's release. "This is for my people, my culture, and our history."

Jay-Z, whose entertainment company Roc Nation is partnered with the NFL and helps organize the halftime show, credited Bad Bunny's work in Puerto Rico. "What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring," he said in the NFL's release. "We are honored to have him on the world's biggest stage."

The NFL's senior vice president of global event production, Jon Barker, said Bad Bunny "represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene."

Why is Bad Bunny so popular?

The value of music is in the eye (or, more literally, ear) of the beholder, so there isn't one clear-cut answer for how Bad Bunny became a mega star. The driving factor, though, may be how he represents Latin America.

Bad Bunny's most popular songs are in Spanish, and he often speaks or sings about social and cultural issues facing Latin Americans or the world at large. Because he has largely stayed true to himself and his culture, Latin Americans and Spanish-speakers across the world have embraced Bad Bunny and helped elevate his music.

Of course, Bad Bunny's talent is what gave him a platform in the first place. He has a voice that appeals to a wide swath of listeners, and he doesn't necessarily stick to the same genre all of the time.

Bad Bunny most popular songs

"DAKITI" is one of Bad Bunny's highest-charting songs, and he was featured on a Billboard No. 1 hit in 2018 when he was included on Cardi B's "I Like It."

"Me Porto Benito" and "Titi Me Pregunto" are two of Bad Bunny's most-streamed Spotify songs in addition to "DAKITI."

Bad Bunny's "Moscow Mule," released in 2022, was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2023.

Does Bad Bunny have songs in English?

Bad Bunny has been featured in songs that include English speakers, but he has primarily released songs in Spanish and has said that he planned to continue to do so going forward.

Bad Bunny explained to Vanity Fair in 2023 that he would never perform in a different language just to reach a new audience.

"It’s not like I hate the idea of performing in English," he said. "It’s just that I feel more comfortable in my own language. I think in Spanish, I feel in Spanish, I eat in Spanish, I sing in Spanish."

Bad Bunny also hinted that he believed he didn't win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2023 because his was in Spanish. "Maybe they weren’t ready for a Spanish-language album to win the big prize," he told Vanity Fair.

Has Bad Bunny played in the Super Bowl before?

This is the first time that Bad Bunny has been in the Super Bowl halftime show, setting up a highly anticipated performance.

Where is the Super Bowl in 2026?

Super Bowl 60 is at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It is the home of the San Francisco 49ers.

Levi's has hosted the Super Bowl once before: it was the site of Super Bowl 50, where the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10.

This is the third Super Bowl being played in the Bay Area. Before Levi's was built, San Francisco hosted Super Bowl 19 at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California, in 1985.
