Stefon Diggs dad: Aron Diggs

Stefon Diggs' father, Aron, passed away from congestive heart failure in January of 2008, when Diggs was 14 years old. However, before he passed, Aron was able to pass along some important advice to his son.

"He just told me, 'Look after your brothers. Look after your mom. Look after your family,'" Stefon said. "That meant a lot to me."

According to Stephanie Diggs, Aron is a big reason why the Diggs brothers got into football in the first place as he coached their football teams. Additionally, she said that Stefon is just like his father and exudes many of his qualities.

"He was a little like Stefon. Stefon is just like him," she said. "They would be running bleachers. Like we would stop by a park and they would be doing burpees and hit the bleachers and I'm like, 'Oh my God, is it that serious?' You know, I'm not thinking they were gonna be these big football players. I mean, they're only little kids. But, you know, that's where Stefon probably got his work ethic from."

Diggs also credits his dad for giving him his mature mentality and ability to keep a level head on the field and endless motivation.

"Like, I don’t know what you’re celebrating," Diggs said that his dad told him, according to GQ. "Every win comes with what? A grain of salt. You could lose the next one. Every catch comes with what? You could drop the next pass. There's always more for you to do. So my drive really comes from a constant chase for perfection."

Stefon Diggs mom: Stephanie Diggs

Stephanie Diggs has three kids, with Stefon being the oldest, and was forced into single motherhood when Aron died in 2008. She used to work as a "flight attendant" for the Amtrak train system, working weekends so she could be with her kids during the week.

When Aron died, Stephanie picked up other jobs as well to support her family.

"I try to instill to them -- always give back and be kind. And just working hard. I worked hard on my job," she said. "I would leave for three or four days. And I worked weekends, so I could be home with my kids Monday through Thursday. And my mom kept them on the weekend. So, they know I work hard. And when my husband passed away, I was doing two jobs. Working at Amtrak, Target, Toys ‘R U, as extra money. Anything we needed to do to take care of my family."

Besides Stefon and Trevon, Stephanie has a daughter who is the lone girl of Stefon's four siblings.

Stefon Diggs brother: Trevon Diggs

Trevon Diggs is Stefon's only sibling with whom he shares both a father and a mother. Trevon is almost five years younger than Stefon, and the two are very close and are extremely competitive with each other.

"We competed at everything," Stefon said, via Sports Illustrated. "But when I think about the competition I have with other people, I don't care about them. I want to win by any means."

Since their father died when they were kids, Stefon had to serve as a father-figure to his brother for most of his childhood.

"When my husband passed away, I sat down and spoke with Stefon. I was like, 'Stef, if you do good things, he’s gonna follow you. If you do bad things, he’s gonna follow you. I need you to be a big brother and show him how to do things the right way.,'" Stephanie Diggs said. "And he understood. And since that day I had that talk with him, he just soared at helping raise his little brothers."

Trevon would often spend time with Stefon at the University of Maryland, where Stefon played three seasons for the Terrapins. Even as they've lived in different parts of the country, the brothers have stayed extremely close.

"Us being away from each other for long periods of time and not talking? It ain’t never happened," Stefon said. "No way."

Trevon, of course, currently plays for the Cowboys and has been one of the better cornerbacks in the league since he was drafted in 2020.

Stefon Diggs brothers

Here's everything to know about Stefon Diggs' other brothers.

Mar'Sean 'Darez' Diggs

Diggs has three half-siblings, including half-brother Mar'Sean, who goes by the name Darez. Stefon and Mar'Sean have the same father but different mothers, and while Mar'Sean is just two years younger than Stefon, he was closer with Trevon until their dad passed away, at which point he saw Stefon much more.

"It went from not really seeing Stefon much," Mar’Sean said via The Athletic, "to seeing him all the time."

Mar'Sean played college football at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2016 to 2018, where he was a defensive back for the Blazers. He explained how he learned about Stefon's work ethic when he worked out with him in the spring.

"In college football, we have breaks where you can take the month of May off," he said. "That really, I think, was the difference for him, was he was training when no one else was training. A lot of guys in college would train by only going to mandatory workouts. So training in that May period was what Stefon taught us. We didn't know or understand that when we were in high school, but once we got to college, we took on that same mentality and kept training even in May."
