NFL power rankings: Patriots jump Rams as new No. 1; Eagles, Colts, Chiefs keep fading for Week 14 image

Week 13 in the NFL was as weird as the number would make you believe.

It all started with a trio of key Thanksgiving upsets and continued into Black Friday. Sunday also saw some topsy turvy results to change the luck of many teams.

Through all that chaos changing the playoff picture and putting a few more teams closer to the bottom, here's the latest look at the league's hierarchy, from best (No. 1) to worst (No. 32) going into Week 14:

NFL Power Rankings

Drake Maye

1. New England Patriots 10-2 (previous ranking: 3)

The Patriots will get a prime-time showcase again for Drake Maye's MVP candidacy, which should be strengthened by him picking apart the Giants at home on Monday night.

2. Denver Broncos 10-2 (2)

The Broncos took advantage of a favorable matchup in Washington to push for a rather uninspired road victory with inconsistent defense on Sunday night, but Bo Nix did what was needed to keep putting pressure on the Patriots in the AFC playoff race.

3. Los Angeles Rams 9-3 (1)

What was that? The Rams saw Matthew Stafford go from white-hot to ice-cold in the chilly Charlotte downpour with costly interceptions. Los Angeles will hope it is a blip and not an early sign of a different streak.

MORE: How Matthew Stafford's miscues doomed Los Angeles in loss to Panthers

4. Chicago Bears 9-3 (7)

The Bears got their running game going to an ideal level for Ben Johnson to help their defense in Philadelphia and the result was domination. That's a sign they're getting more dangerous every week.

5. Green Bay Packers 8-3-1 (5)

The Packers got Jordan Love and their wide receivers going at the right time to make the needed big pass plays. Their QB getting hot gives them a chance to win the division over the Bears down the stretch after sweeping the Lions.

6. Seattle Seahawks 9-3 (6)

The Seahawks crushed the hapless Vikings to pull even with the Rams in the mighty NFC West race that also involves the red-hot 49ers. They need some more consistency from Sam Darnold, however, to stamp their NFC elite status.

7. Buffalo Bills 8-4 (9)

The Bills ran all over the Steelers to establish their dominant strength of the season and had to be inspired by all the big plays its defense was able to make when not gashed by the run.

8. San Francisco 49ers 9-4 (11)

The 49ers passed a tough defensive test at Cleveland with Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey doing what was needed. Their own defense has put it together post-injury mess of late, too.

9. Philadelphia Eagles 8-4 (4)

The Eagles are getting heat for their offense but the reality is their defense has been destroyed against run and pass the past two weeks against the Cowboys and Bears. The lack of their own running game keeps hurting too.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars 8-4 (12)

The Jaguars got another strong game from Trevor Lawrence when they needed it and their defense also found the dominant playmaking mojo from earlier in the season against the Titans. Jacksonville now is in full control of its division fate.

Trevor Lawrence

11. Los Angeles Chargers 8-4 (13)

The Chargers didn't get much of a challenge from the Raiders but they will get a nice NFC challenge before the playoffs with the Eagles next before a rematch with the Chiefs.

12. Indianapolis Colts 8-4 (8)

The Colts have fallen out of first place for losing two straight games with the Jaguars and Texans not relenting. They need to come through with a win in Jacksonville next week to flip their chances again.

13. Detroit Lions 7-5 (10)

The Lions have seen their defensive issues, especially against the pass, catching up to them big-time of late with too much being put on Jared Goff and the offense to win shootouts. Seeing the hot Cowboys and Rams back-to-back won't help.

14. Houston Texans 7-5 (15)

The Texans got the job done with more of their signature defense in Indy and the running game was of huge support to a returning C.J. Stroud. They need to keep it up against the Chiefs next.

15. Dallas Cowboys 6-5-1 (19)

The Cowboys have recharged their offense around Dak Prescott and their defense is playing with a new kind of energy with key personnel changes. They were on teh brink of not making the playoffs and now can't be ignored in their attempt to catch the Eagles.

16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-5 (17)

The Buccaneers had to be pleased a gritty Baker Mayfield played through his shoulder injury to grind their offense to a much-needed home victory. Getting the Saints and Falcons back-to-back at home next also helps.

17. Kansas City Chiefs 6-6 (14)

The Chiefs went back to losing close games with their defense giving up too much to the Cowboys just when was Patrick Mahomes and their passing game was hitting on all cylinders. Missing the playoffs grows as a real outcome.

18. Carolina Panthers 7-6 (20)

The Panthers are finding their way as a winning team and having Bryce Young and the defense come through to upset the Rams was a huge breakthrough under Dave Canales. They still can take the South away from the Bucs.

19. Baltimore Ravens 6-6 (16)

The Ravens need to start worrying about Lamar Jackson being off since his injury return after the mistake-peppered meltdown vs. A weak overall Bengals' defense. The schedule doesn't offer much to get well with the Steelers twice and the Packers and Patriots still on the docket.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers 6-6 (18)

The Steelers have an inept offense when they can't run the ball but the bigger problem is the bad defensive inconsistency they have developed, putting Mike Tomlin's string of non-losing seasons in serious jeopardy.

Mike Tomlin

21. Miami Dolphins 5-7 (21)

The Dolphins are trying their best to get on a late roll to help the chances of Mike McDaniel seeing another season. It just might work if they can somehow finish above.500.

22. Cincinnati Bengals 4-8 (26)

The Bengals came back to life with Joe Burrow leading their offense to beat the Ravens, but the biggest twist is how their defense turned in the most inspired effort with the season on the line. They totally can't be ruled out to rally and steal an AFC North title that no one seems to want.

23. Atlanta Falcons 4-8 (22)

The Falcons have fallen apart with their offensive injuries and their defensive lapses. That may end up putting Raheem Morris on the hot seat after two seasons with the Jets loss being the latest ding.

24. Minnesota Vikings 4-8 (23)

The Vikings are totally lost at quarterback and their offense hit a new low for coach Kevin O'Connell. Their defense is doing their best to hold up but it's not meant to be when they can't score to put extra pressure on opponents.

25. Washington Commanders 3-9 (24)

The Commanders are playing out the season tough with Marcus Mariota and making the right choice to delay the return of Jayden Daniels. Washington can consider this an injury washout with the pressure for healthy, rejuvenated rebound in 2026.

26. Arizona Cardinals 3-9 (25)

The Cardinals are trying to keep things together offensively with Jacoby Brissett while their defense is giving high efforts for Jonathan Gannon. That still might not be enough to save their head coach.

27. New York Jets 3-9 (31)

The Jets found some needed late offense with Tyrod Taylor and their replacement young wide receivers to get a much-needed home win. They are showing some needed inspiration under Aaron Glenn.

28. Cleveland Browns 3-9 (27)

The Browns got some more good vibes with Shedeur Sanders but the offense is operating at about the same level with previous QBs. They are still rather sloppy against better teams such as the 49ers.

29. New York Giants 2-10 (28)

The Giants will hope to stay competitive with interim coach Mike Kafka, getting a needed late lift from the return of Jaxson Dart to duel Maye in New England on Monday night.

30. New Orleans Saints 2-10 (29)

The Saints had another rough game with Tyler Shough's growing pains in Miami. They are at least showing some real fight to prove Kellen Moore deserves a second season.

31. Las Vegas Raiders 2-10 (30)

The Raiders keep trying to stay competitive with their two best players, Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers. But the rest of the roster needs a ton of work.

32. Tennessee Titans 1-11 (32)

The Titans had some offensive sparks in Week 12, only to lose all of that positivity with Cam Ward in Week 13. The defense needs a lot of work for 2026.
