Daniel Jones was not the long-term quarterback solution the New York Giants were hoping he was. Is Jaxson Dart?
The former Ole Miss signal-caller wasn't considered a surefire first-round prospect for much of the pre-draft process in 2025, at least in the public eye, but the Giants put their hopes on his shoulders when they used the No. 25 pick on him.
Dart's long-term future is a long way from being clear, but he has given New York fans hope that better days are ahead after one of the darkest periods in franchise history.
Here's what you need to know about the family that helped get Dart to the NFL, including his fitness mom and football-playing brother.

Jaxson Dart mom: Kara Dart
Fans noticed Jaxson Dart's mother, Kara, getting plenty of screen time during the earliest games of his NFL career. Kara has been a prominent supporter of Jaxson at his games, as one would expect, and it's not hard to see where her son's athleticism comes from.
A former retail employee at Nordstrom, Kara now works as a fitness instructor. She ran track and played volleyball in high school. Based on her Instagram handle, @runningwithkara, running remains a focus for Kara.
Because of her Nordstrom background, Kara serves as a source of fashion advice for her son.
"My mom's into it, and she’s done a great job of letting me choose and find things that I like and just giving me options," Dart told GQ about his style.
Kara has been a staple at Giants games since Jaxson was drafted, including the preseason:

Jaxson Dart dad: Brandon Dart
Jaxson Dart's father is also the source of some of his athleticism, as Brandon Dart played safety at the University of Utah in the late 1990s.
Brandon actually spent seven seasons at Utah because of injuries. He redshirted his sophomore season in 1995 due to injury and returned to play a full season in 1996, earning an honorable mention for the All-WAC team.
Injuries continued to cost Brandon in the years that followed, as he missed the entire 1997 and 1998 seasons due to separate ailments. The NCAA granted him two additional years of eligibility in 1999 and 2000, so Brandon finished his college career more than six years after he started it.
Brandon has made a career as an entrepreneur and lists himself as the owner of a company called Dartco Masonry in Utah.

Jaxson Dart brother: Diesel Dart
Another Dart may soon play high-level football, as Jaxson's brother, Diesel, is a three-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
Diesel plays both safety and wide receiver, and he already has a pair of SEC offers between Ole Miss and Auburn. Diesel also has confirmed offers from Arizona and BYU along with Group of Five programs UNLV and San Diego State.
According to 247 Sports, Diesel is the No. 10 player from Utah in the 2027 class and ranks No. 756 overall.

Jaxson Dart siblings
Jaxson Dart's other siblings are much younger than him and have stayed out of the spotlight, but it is believed that he has two sisters. An Instagram post from 2021 appears to show the whole family:
Dart mentioned one of his younger sisters when he arrived at Giants minicamp in May wearing his sister's heart necklace. Dart told reporters he put it on for Ole Miss' Gator Bowl win over Duke, which the Rebels won, 52-20. "It’s kind of been good luck for me ever since," he said.

Where is Jaxson Dart from?
Jaxson Dart was born and raised in Utah. He was born in Kaysville, north of Salt Lake City, and started high school in nearby Roy before heading south of Salt Lake City to spend his senior season at Corner Canyon High School in Draper.
Despite his father's ties to the University of Utah, Dart committed to USC out of high school after considering Arizona State. He transferred to Ole Miss after his freshman season with Lincoln Riley bringing Caleb Williams in to start for the Trojans, and it was in Oxford that Dart found sustained success under a former USC coach in Lane Kiffin.
