Christian McCaffrey is a fairly expressive player. The 49ers tailback has imprinted himself on television sets for the better part of a decade, competing for the title of league's best running back amid a barrage of touchdowns and outstretched receptions.
While McCaffrey isn't the flashiest of talents, he does come to life in the open field. Completions behind the line of scrimmage often becoming sprints to the pylon for the All-Pro. And when he does cross the goal-line, he does so in style, ball tucked firmly into his tattooed arm.
McCaffrey's tattoos have drew more interest than most in recent years. There was a time when his arms were barren.
But his past few seasons has seen a shift, with artwork beginning to dance across the back of his left arm.

Christian McCaffrey tattoos, explained
McCaffrey sported bare arms for much of his Panthers career. Since arriving in San Francisco, though, he has scrawled his left arm with a bit of color.
McCaffrey doesn't have an abundance of tattoos. He does have a handful visible pieces on the back of his left arm, though. Here's what you need to know:

McCaffrey's tattoos are concentrated on the back of his left arm. Included in the mosaic is an apparent compass that resides on his left forearm, a lion that climbs up towards his elbow and what looks to be a mountain range sprawled near his wrist. On his tricep lies another five images, one of which appears to be a pair of axes. He looks to have taken inspiration from another big cat in one of his tricep pieces, which depicts the eyes of a tiger peering out into the distance.

Christian McCaffrey tattoo meaning
McCaffrey hasn't publicly commented on the meaning of any of his tattoos. It seems likely that the images hold some sort of significance to him, although their true meaning is unlikely to be unearthed unless McCaffrey speaks on his pieces.
