Everyone likes a good underdog story. And which NFL player can lay claim to being a bigger underdog than 49ers hurler Brock Purdy?
The San Francisco QB was the final player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, earning the notorious title of "Mr. Irrelevant." He used that designation to propel him up head coach Kyle Shanahan's depth chart, taking the reins of the Niners' offense by the end of the his rookie season. By 2023 he was an MVP candidate who brought San Francisco to the doorstep of a Super Bowl title.
Now, he's one of football's highest-paid players. It doesn't get more storybook than that.
Purdy's journey to the upper echelons of the NFL is a unique one. In a league filled with titans and talismans, it's Purdy, a fairly unassuming physical presence, who has lasted. Given his reading of the game and ability to deliver the ball on time, he looks well-equipped to last long in the Bay Area.
But just how much money has he earned over the course of his career? And how did his draft status impact his net worth evaluation? Here's what you need to know.

Brock Purdy net worth
Purdy's net worth sits at $20 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. That is a fairly meager total compared to other quarterbacks of his stature; Jared Goff, for example, is valued at upwards of $100 million, while Deshaun Watson is estimated to be worth $60 million.
Purdy does have age on his side; he is still well-short of his 30s. That should offer him plenty of opportunity to inject additional life — and green — into his pockets.

Brock Purdy NFL contract details
- Years: Five
- Value: $265 million
Purdy landed a five-year, $265 million deal with the Niners in the 2025 offseason. $181 million of the total payout is guaranteed, while his $53 million average annual value ranked seventh among quarterbacks at the time of his signing.
Purdy received quite the salary increase. Prior to his extension, he earned less than two percent of the value of his current deal. His contract also features a full no-trade clause, making him one of a handful of talents to receive said treatment.
Despite falling well short of his 2023 marks, Purdy still nabbed a fairly glistening deal. He'll look to rekindle his form from his sophomore season in the years to come. If he does, the league could look silly in underestimating the Iowa State alum's skillet. It wouldn't be the first time it did so.
Year | Base Salary | Cap Hit |
2025 | $1.1 million | $9.1 million |
2026 | $8.3 million | $24.8 million |
2027 | $11.3 million | $30.8 million |
2028 | $34.1 million | $57.6 million |
2029 | $49 million | $72.5 million |
2030 | $49.05 million | $64.55 million |

Brock Purdy endorsements
Purdy might not have secured the most glitzy of contracts out of the gate. He's fared well when it comes to endorsements, though, quietly emerging as a marketable presence to sponsors' ad campaigns. He has contracts with Toyota, Alaska Airlines, Buffalo Wild Wings and Ariat, among other companies. His deal with Toyota was especially noteworthy; he represented Toyota's first national partnership with an NFL player since it agreed to a vehicle sponsorships deal with the NFL back in October 2023.
Here's a look at some of the brands that have earmarked Purdy as a valuable partner since the start of his NFL career.

Brock Purdy business ventures and philanthropy
There isn't much information available on Purdy's business acumen at present. He invested in Yerbae, a plant-based energy beverage company, in 2023, per Business Wire. However, it's unclear if he's maintained this investment in the years since.
"The best competitors analyze everything about their performance, including taking nutrition seriously. I’m excited pure plant-based energy is now available in an energy drink without sugar. Yerbae, it’s a Game Changer," Purdy said in a press release.
Purdy has shown an eye for philanthropy, selecting Child Advocates of Silicon Valley — a program that trains court-appointed special advocates to work with foster children — as his "My Cause, My Cleats" charity in Dec. 2023. The selection set forth a '13 for 13 Challenge', which saw Child Advocates call on supporters of its initiatives to donate $13 — Purdy's matching uniform number.
A Northern California Toyota dealership got involved in the effort, matching every donation up to $10,000 for the cause.

Where does Brock Purdy live?
Purdy famously lived with teammate Nick Zakelj during the Niners' trot to Super Bowl 58, a byproduct of Purdy's (relatively) meager salary at the start of his career.
The house was "beautiful", said Mike Rose, Purdy's former teammate at Iowa State, a spacious abode capable of allowing both Purdy and Zakelj to host friends and family.
"They’ve got their own space, for sure," Rose told Yahoo Sports in 2024. They’re not on top of each other."
Still, Purdy's marriage to longtime girlfriend Jenna Brandt in March 2024 complicated matters. According to San Francisco TE George Kittle, Purdy purchased a home in Nashville during the 2025 offseason.
"He did purchase a house in Nashville, Tennessee," Kittle said during a 2025 appearance on the "Pardon My Take" podcast. "He will be kind of a neighbor to me at some point. That will be pretty fun, because I'll have a quarterback that can throw to me all the time, that's actually on my team. So, I'm excited about that."
