TL;DR

  • Daniel Faalele's Baltimore Ravens won their fifth straight game, taking the AFC North lead.
  • Tory Taylor's Chicago Bears secured a victory, with his punts totaling over 200 yards.
  • Mitch Wishnowsky's Buffalo Bills lost, and he punted three times for 136 yards.

Daniel Faalele and the Baltimore Ravens maintained their winning streak, surging to the lead in the AFC North standings following their fifth consecutive win.

Meanwhile, Jordan Mailata and Mitch Wishnowksy were on the receiving end of some tough losses.

Here's how every Australian player performed in Week 12.

Aussie NFL Week 11 Wrap-up

Daniel Faalele

After starting the season at 1-5, the Baltimore Ravens have recovered to firm as the favourites of the AFC North division. The Ravens' five-game win streak comes again in spite of some polarising play from Aussie guard Daniel Faalele, whose performances have been under a microscope for weeks now by the Baltimore fandom.

Despite a couple of notable errors from the 26-year-old, the Ravens managed to secure a 23-10 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson passed for only 153 yards and zero touchdowns, with a 56.5 percent completion rate. However, thanks to his offensive line, which features Faalele, he was only sacked one time.

Tory Taylor

The Chicago Bears remain at the top of the NFC North standings, aiding Faalele's Ravens by securing a 31-28 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Bears' offense called on Australian punter Tory Taylor four times, with his kicks totaling over 200 yards. His longest punt measured 58 yards, contributing to Chicago's fourth consecutive win.

Mitch Wishnowsky

The Buffalo Bills' prospects of winning the AFC East are diminishing, following their 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans on Thursday night, with Josh Allen and the Bills at the helm.

The Bills' offense had a tough time against the Texans' defense, as Allen, widely considered the NFL's top quarterback, was compelled to throw two interceptions and was sacked on eight occasions.

The Bills' difficulties led to Australian punter Mitch Wishnowsky entering the field on three occasions, punting the ball a total of 136 yards, with his longest punt measuring 48 yards.

Jordan Mailata

Sunday saw the Philadelphia Eagles' four-game winning streak come to an end. They couldn't capitalize on a strong beginning, ultimately falling to the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 21-24, despite holding a 21-0 lead in the second quarter.

Despite facing pressure, Jordan Mailata and the Eagles' offensive line significantly improved Jalen Hurts' comfort level. The Super Bowl LIX MVP delivered one of his strongest performances of the season, passing for 289 yards and a touchdown without any interceptions. He also contributed two rushing touchdowns, and the team only allowed one sack.

The defending Super Bowl champions still sit atop of the NFC East division with a record of 8-3.

Michael Dickson

The Seattle Seahawks are still closely pursuing the L.A. Rams for first place in the NFC West, following their 30-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Michael Dickson, an Australian punter for The Seahawks, saw limited action, punting only twice for a total of 106 yards.
