Micah Parsons can breathe a sigh of relief. After an offseason filled with drama, turmoil and a historic trade, he has played in his first game with his new team.
Parsons and the Green Bay Packers played well and held strong in Week 1, earning a big divisional win over the Detroit Lions. After the trade was complete, it was revealed that the star edge rusher had been dealing with a minor back injury. Between that and his needing to learn a new playbook, he wasn't expected to carry a full workload in his debut with Green Bay.
As expected, Parsons didn't play the full game, but that didn't stop him from having an impact. He only had one tackle in the game, but it was his first sack with the Packers. After another week with his new franchise, Parsons and Green Bay will welcome Washington to town for Week 2's edition of "Thursday Night Football."
The Sporting News tracked how Parsons is playing against the Commanders on Thursday night in Week 2.

Postgame
11:45 p.m. -- Parsons joined the postgame show for Amazon. The crowd was raucous with a "Thank you, Jerry" chant, with Parsons egging them on. Parsons talked about the culture differences between the team, but said they are very similar. The main thing was that he joined a locker room that taught people to run to the ball, and he doesn't have to push his new teammates to do that like he did in Dallas.

Parsons talked about his intensity playing, and he said that he enjoys playing pissed off. He also said that his goal is to take pressure off his teammates so they can also have a chance to excel.
Parsons says that he believes the team can be great, but they are taking things week-to-week. He says he doesn't want to compare to Reggie White, but aspires to come close. Parsons said that it will be heartbreaking to play his old team in Week 4, but he is "damn" excited for it.
Fourth quarter
11:28 p.m. -- That was the last action for Parsons on the stat sheet. He finished his second game with the Packers with two tackles, 0.5 sacks and three quarterback hits.
10:49 p.m. -- Parsons picked up his second tackle in the game in the fourth quarter. He helped stop Austin Ekeler at the line of scrimmage.
Third quarter
10:26 p.m. -- It feels like Parsons is living in the backfield, but is just forcing Commanders QB Jayden Daniels to speed up. The Packers edge has added two more quarterback hits to hit stat total for the night.
10:01 p.m. -- Parsons logged his first sack of the night, well, it was half of a sack. There was a flag thrown for holding on the play, but the Packers chose to decline it.

Second quarter
9:42 p.m. -- When the dust settled on the first half, Parsons' only contribution on the stat sheet is a quarterback hit.
9:37 p.m. -- It won't show up on the stat sheet, but Parsons' presence cannot be overstated. Laremy Tunsil is one of the more experienced linemen for the Commanders, and Parsons got him to jump early for a false start late in the second quarter.
9:22 p.m. -- Parsons is still without a tackle halfway through the second quarter. He is getting very close to Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, but hasn't quite gotten him to the ground. Washington is definitely planning plays away from Parsons.

First quarter
8:53 p.m. -- Through two drives for the Commanders, Parsons doesn't have a tackle on the box score yet. He has gotten into the backfield a few times and certainly has a few quarterback hurries to his credit, but he hasn't registered a tackle or a sack.
8:18 p.m. -- The game is underway, but the Packers will start on offense.
Pre-game
8:01 p.m. -- This will be the first time that Parsons dons the Packers' all-white "Winter Warning" jerseys.
