Saturday's game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears began as a typical cold-weather, defensive NFC North battle, but the hard hitting caught up with the Packers in the second quarter.
Quarterback Jordan Love exited the game after absorbing a helmet-to-helmet hit from Bears defensive tackle Austin Booker. While Love was able to jog off the field under his own power, he remained down for several minutes after Booker delivered the blow.
Booker was penalized for the hit due to its helmet-to-helmet nature.
Here’s what you need to know about Love’s injury and his status going forward.

While the Packers star walked off the field under his own power, he was visibly shaken up and stayed down on the field for a handful of minutes. After leaving the field to be evaluated, he was replaced by backup Malik Willis.
Love's status for the remainder of the game has not yet been determined.
Love hasn't missed a start since the opening month of the 2024 season, though Willis filled in admirably during that absence, winning his two starts as an injury replacement.

What happened to Jordan Love?
Love suffered an apparent head injury on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Bears DT Austin Booker in the first half of Saturday's game against the Bears.
The hit knocked Love backward and left him visibly shaken up, but he was able to walk off the field himself after being tended to by trainers for a handful of minutes.
Does Jordan Love have a concussion?
Love was diagnosed with a concussion on Saturday and ruled out for the remainder of the game. The Packers' next game is also a Saturday night contest, so Love will have exactly a week to be cleared to start against the Baltimore Ravens.
Who is Jordan Love's backup?
Love is backed up by Malik Willis, who is in his second season with the Packers.
A former third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans, Willis struggled to earn an opportunity to see the field in Nashville and was traded to Green Bay in the days leading up to the 2024 season.
Despite the short turnaround, Willis won his first two starts in a Packers uniform in place of an injured Love in Weeks 3 and 4 last season.
Packers QB depth chart
| Rank | QB |
| 1 | Jordan Love |
| 2 | Malik Willis |
| 3 | Clayton Tune |
Love is the clear-cut franchise quarterback in Green Bay, even if he still has room for growth, and the Packers are totally comfortable with Willis as their backup after his brief but impressive stint in place of Love early in 2024.
The Packers' emergency No. 3 quarterback is Clayton Tune, but he is not on the active roster, meaning RB Josh Jacobs is Green Bay's likely emergency quarterback, according to Matt LaFleur.
A fifth-round pick out of Houston in 2023, Tune spent his first two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and made one start before being cut loose at the end of training camp this year. Tune has been on Green Bay's practice squad since joining the organization in late August.
