Heading into Week 14, the Dallas Cowboys are set for another prime-time game on Amazon Prime for Thursday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys enter fresh off a Thanksgiving thriller against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, taking the win, 31-28.

Cowboys injury update on Jadevon Clowney

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney is questionable for Thursday night’s prime-time matchup against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury, coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday, calling his status a game-time decision based on how he warms up before kickoff.

Veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney did not practice Tuesday and instead worked on resistance cords with the team’s rehab staff, Schottenheimer confirmed. The Cowboys’ initial Week 14 injury report lists Clowney as limited, and Schottenheimer said his availability will come down to how he feels during pregame warmups on Thursday night.

Speaking on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones feels optimistic about Clowney's return.

As he said on Tuesday: “I look to him to be available this short week, really not a short week for us. But we don’t have many days left for him to be out there,” Jones said. “Planning on him playing, but that’s not a given. You have to, this truly is warm him up out there before the game on Thursday, and if they can play, then you’ll make them active.

Clowney has been a key piece of Dallas' defensive rise since joining the team in Week 3, posting 27 tackles, four sacks, three passes defensed, two run stops, and one fumble recovery in nine games. His potential absence would leave the Cowboys thinner at edge rusher against a Lions offense led by Jared Goff. The Lions are also dealing with injuries on their own side, including Amon-Ra St. Brown’s status in question.
