The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game was nearly delayed for an hour in the third quarter with 4:44 remaining because of Thunderstorms. The game resumed at around 11:30 p.m. ET and both teams looked not as sharp after the long delay.

In the fourth-quarter, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had two critical drops in the game. It is rare for Lamb to make critical drops with the game on the line. The Eagles defeated the Cowboys 24-20. Dallas dropped to 0-1 on the season and Lamb knows he let this game slip through his fingers. Despite the drops, he caught seven passes for 110 yards receiving and was targeted 13 times.

Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb Takes Full Responsibility in Loss Against the Philadelphia Eagles

Lamb spoke to the media after the game about his two critical dropped passes in the fourth quarter against the Eagles. He said to Jon Machota of the Athletic,

"That’s terrible. I can’t point the finger at anybody else. I take full accountability and everything else that comes with it. As a player, I train for moments like that and the ball to come my way. I need to catch the damn ball."

Even with Lamb dropping those passes, there is no doubt that quarterback Dak Prescott is going to throw the ball toward his way once again in a close game. Lamb is the best wide receiver on the Cowboys roster by a mile. George Pickens gave him no help at all with three receptions for 30 yards receiving in this game and he was the Cowboys second leading receiver.

Lamb hopes next time that he will not make a critical drop with the game on the line. The Cowboys will next face the New York Giants.
