The Caleb Williams experience was in full-effect in his second NFL playoff game.
On one hand, the Chicago Bears' star quarterback made some throws that left no doubts about why he was viewed as the next generational prospect coming out of USC as the No. 1 pick in 2024. With an NFC Championship Game berth on the line, Williams had a miraculous fourth-down touchdown pass against the Los Angeles Rams that set up overtime.
But while Williams' highlights lifted the Bears, his mistakes also sunk them. The quarterback threw three interceptions, including one in overtime, in his team's 20-17 loss, which ended Chicago's season.
Here's a look at Williams' interceptions that allowed the Rams to advance to the NFC Championship Game.

Williams had three interceptions against the Rams on Sunday night, somewhat masking his incredible touchdown pass at the end of the fourth quarter to force overtime. The Bears quarterback's first turnover came rather quickly, as Ben Johnson went for an opening-drive fourth down that resulted in a pick.
On 4th & 2, rather than take the field goal from the 21-yard line, Johnson put the ball in Williams' hands. But on a play where he appeared to take a shot, with no roughing the passer penalty, Williams was intercepted by Cobie Durant while targeting tight end Colston Loveland.

That turnover was followed by a 14-play Rams touchdown drive, with Matthew Stafford and company taking a 7-0 lead early.
Late in the third quarter, the score was tied at 10 after a series of punts for both squads. The Bears' offense wasn't finding much momentum, but it lost possession anyway when Williams was picked off by Durant for the second time.

Those first two interceptions could have been easily forgiven, as Williams later made the play of the night by forcing overtime with a long-range touchdown pass. But his most consequential turnover of the three came in the extra period.
Chicago had an opportunity to win the game with a field goal, as the Rams punted on their opening drive of overtime. The Bears were putting together a long drive, reaching midfield by running the ball and taking short-range gains.
But on a 2nd & 8, Williams was well-protected and tried to go deep for D.J. Moore. Instead, Kam Curl dove onto his pass for interception No. 3, giving the Rams possession and the chance to win the game.
It would be the last time Williams and the Bears' offense stepped onto the field in the 2025-26 season, as Los Angeles moved down the field for a game-winning field goal.

The interceptions hurt, but the numbers won't fully tell the story for Williams' performance in Sunday's game. It was a game in which neither offense found much juice, grinding for every yard. Williams still managed two touchdown passes, including one of the highlights of the Bears' season with the game-tying play.
Despite consistently coming up with big plays throughout the evening though, it was Williams' turnovers that held back Chicago from pulling off a miraculous overtime victory.
The Bears won't have too much to hang their heads about after a successful first year under Ben Johnson, but Williams' interceptions will undoubtedly sting for a while, as Chicago had a real shot to advance to the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
