It may be too soon to panic, but the Buffalo Bills' start to the 2025 NFL season has been a confounding one.
Buffalo opened the season with four consecutive wins, only to lose its next two before a Week 7 bye. Further adding fuel to the fire is that the Bills' four wins came against teams with a combined 3-21 record, while the two losses have come against teams with winning records.
While it's early in the season and too soon to panic, Buffalo's biggest concern is its receiving corps, and the lack of options for reigning MVP Josh Allen. The rostered WRs were a major talking point coming into the season, and the discussion is re-emerging at the forefront as the Bills seek answers.

Bills trade targets

The most likely trade targets at receiver are players who find themselves in more undesirable situations at this point in the season. Whether it is team success, a reduced role in the offense, or both, there is a select group who have been mentioned as potential options for a reason.
Here are seven of the best options:
1. Jakobi Meyers, Raiders (age: 28)
Things aren't looking too great in Las Vegas, which could pave the way for a Meyers trade. He's coming off the first 1,000-yard season of his career and, through six games, is threatening to do it again.
Meyers has what it takes to be a certified No. 1 and would be a great option if Buffalo could somehow make it happen.
2. DJ Moore, Bears (age: 28)
The Bears are doing well, but Moore is on pace for one of the lowest statistical outputs of his eight-year career.
New scenery could be of benefit for Moore, who is averaging the lowest receiving yards per game in his career. He could almost immediately become the go-to option in Buffalo, which would not be unfamiliar territory for a player who has turned in four 1,000-yard seasons in his career.
3. Chris Olave, Saints (age: 25)
There are real health concerns, but Olave has proven that when he's on the field, he is a guy. It's just his fourth NFL season, and he opened his career with two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He likely would have turned in a third had he not been limited to eight games in 2024.
The Saints appear often on the list because the franchise is in flux. Movement and a rebuild could open the door for players to become available.

4. Brandin Cooks, Saints (age: 32)
For his 12th NFL season, Cooks has returned to where it all began. Through six games, he's caught 13 passes for 124 yards, including a four-catch performance against the Bills in Week 4.
The 32-year-old may have lost a half-step, but he's sure-handed and still has some juice left in the tank. If nothing else, he's an attainable option to add some depth.
5. DeAndre Hopkins, Ravens (age: 33)
At 33, Hopkins is still finding ways to get it done.
The 13-year veteran didn't likely envision a 1-5 start when he joined the Baltimore Ravens, but the franchise could do him a solid if things continue to go downhill. His season-long numbers pale in comparison to his peak years, but it's worth noting that Hopkins was better when Lamar Jackson was on the field.
He's another piece capable of rounding out a WR room.
6. Rashid Shaheed, Saints (age: 27)
Shaheed is a speedster capable of exposing defenses with his explosive-play ability. He's got at least one reception of 55-plus yards in each season of his career, and he already has an 87-yard touchdown reception to his name in 2025.
A player like Shaheed keeps defenses honest and can quickly alter a game's outlook. He's lower on the list because of how difficult he may be to pry from New Orleans, but it's worth a call.
7. Tyler Lockett, Titans (age: 33)
It's Year 11 for Lockett, who, in 2024, went for 600 yards with the Seattle Seahawks. Things haven't been as fruitful with the Tennessee Titans, as he's only caught eight passes for 52 yards through six games.
As Tennessee continues to sputter, it could look to do right by the veteran and facilitate a path for him to join a team with higher aspirations. Lockett is likely very attainable.
