Kyler Murray net worth: How much money Cardinals QB has made in career earnings, endorsements and more image

Few quarterbacks have proven more divisive among NFL fans than Kyler Murray.

The Cardinals' gunslinger is as talented as they come, pairing a lively arm with impressive speed and agility to wreak havoc on opposition defenses when he feels engaged.

And yet, he has struggled to find consistency with Arizona, dovetailing between MVP-like peaks and backup-like troughs with the Cards.

He's still rolling in the dough; most NFL QBs are. But his foibles have made him a target for criticism among segments of the NFL fanbase. It also has led some to speculate on how much he has in his bank account — and how much more he'll get over the course of his current contract.

With that, here's what you need to know about Kyler Murray's net worth.

Kyler Murray net worth

Murray's net worth is valued at $40 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. That puts him in line with Lamar Jackson on the net worth charts among NFL quarterbacks.

Like Jackson (and most of the league's hurlers), Murray derives much of his value from his on-field performance and the ensuing contract he receives for it. He's also proven to be a hit for local and multinational brands alike, garnering endorsements from Jordan Brand, Activision and Gatorade, among other corporations.

Kyler Murray NFL contract details

  • Years: Five
  • Value: $230.5 million

Murray inked a five-year, $230.5 million extension with Arizona in 2022. When the ink dried on his deal, his $46.1 million average annual value (AAV) placed third among QBs, bested only by Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. The contract is fairly evenly-loaded, with Murray slated to earn around $40-45 million in the final years of his deal, a similar mark to the figures he brought home when the deal went into effect.

Murray's contract famously included an "independent study clause." The Cardinals enshrined into the legal document their desire to have Murray lock into scouting and film study.

Most of the contract is guaranteed; Arizona agreed to disburse $159,700,000 of Murray's deal to him. The remaining $70 million was left to chance, however.

The contract also holds an out for the Cardinals after the 2027 season. Murray's current deal will see him take up $46.35 million in cap space come 2028. If Arizona cuts him loose, it won't be liable to dole out such a sum.

Here's a breakdown of Murray's extension, as laid out by Spotrac.

2022$965,000$12,669,481

Kyler Murray MLB signing bonus

Before Murray got his start as a big-league quarterback, he had all the makings of a top-tier outfielder. The Oklahoma alum was a two-sport star in his youth, shining on both the gridiron and the baseball diamond. As a junior with the Sooners, Murray produced a .296 average, 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases.

MLB scouts were entranced. The Athletics selected Murray with the No. 9 pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. He inked terms with Oakland shortly thereafter, agreeing to a $4.66 million signing bonus, just under his estimated slot value.

Murray planned on playing one more year of QB at Oklahoma before joining Oakland's farm system. His penchant for touchdowns uprooted that plan. And despite reportedly being offered a $14 million guarantee (in addition to his $4.6 million signing bonus), Murray declared for the NFL Draft upon the conclusion of his Heisman-winning campaign, thereby forfeiting his bonus.

Kyler Murray gaming and esports

The football field isn’t the only sports arena where Murray has found success. He’s also a famous — or perhaps infamous — video game player and streamer.

The Cardinals hurler collects revenue on Twitch. He has some 88,000 followers on the platform, translating to what figures to be an impressive amount of passive income. He's also a member of FaZe Clan, one of esports' most successful franchises that also boasts Bronny James and Ben Simmons as "members."

"I know how big FaZe is as an organization, how kids look up to FaZe, they want to be a part of FaZe," Murray told ESPN in 2021. "I've played video games my whole life, so I was already familiar with FaZe, I knew how big FaZe was.

"I was all-in just because I play video games a lot, so it was kind of ... the fact that it was mutual love was really, really big for me."

He shelled out some cash in the process, becoming one of the organization's shareholders. Interestingly, Murray's commitment to FaZe was one-sided — Murray didn't receive any compensation upon joining the team.

He joined Odell Beckham Jr. in investing into Web3 startup, MynaSwap, a collectible sneaker blockchain that emerged in 2022. He has shown a willingness to give fans access into his life with a YouTube channel that boasts more than 60,000 subscribers.

All of that is to say, Murray is quietly establishing himself as a player in the business world.

Where does Kyler Murray live?

Murray owns a multi-million dollar estate in Paradise Valley, a glitzy suburb in the Phoenix area that former Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald used to live in. Not much is known about Murray's house outside of its location. However, he's in good company among Paradise Valley residents. His current coach, Jonathan Gannon, and former coach, Kliff Kingsbury, also called the golf course-laden town home.
