Ben Simmons provides update on potential NBA comeback image

Just as potential Australian all-star Josh Giddey went down with an injury, former Australian all-star Ben Simmons says he is in no rush to make an NBA comeback, as he continues to try and get his body to 100 per cent.

Simmons, who has only played in 108 games since the start of the 2021-22 season, is currently without a team, after not signing with any club in free agency. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Injuries have been the reason for the downfall of the former three-time all-star, but Simmons now says he wants to make sure his body is fully healthy before returning to the court.

"I'm about to be 30 years old, and I need to make the best decision for Ben Simmons," he told The Athletic's Sam Jane

"It's not fun going out there, not being able to move, not be able to jump, or, you know, take hits. There's no fun in that. Sometimes you got to make a decision with how you feel and what's best for yourself. And that's what I've done, and it's not for everybody to really understand, because they're not in my shoes."

According to Jane, Simmons also said his jump shot "finally feels good and that he can now take a simple hook shot without any discomfort."

Last week Simmons announced  he has become the controlling operator of the Miami-based ‘South Florida Sails’ in the Sport Fishing Championship.
