Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander joins 10 NBA legends to complete MVP double in Finals history image

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is quickly writing an all-time great NBA resume.

He added to it in a massive way on Sunday night by claiming an NBA title through Game 7 brilliance.

SGA finished with 29 points and 12 assists in a masterpiece to ensure the Oklahoma City Thunder won it all.

The regular season MVP rightfully was named NBA Finals MVP, too. He's the 11th player in NBA history to complete that double in the same season, according to StatMuse.

Here are the other 10 legends to do so:

  • Willis Reed
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
  • Magic Johnson
  • Larry Bird
  • Moses Malone
  • Michael Jordan
  • Hakeem Olajuwon
  • Shaquille O'Neal
  • Tim Duncan
  • LeBron James

You can add Shai Gilegous-Alexander to that list.

He's the first player from Canada on such a prestigious list.

And with how the Thunder are built, this seems like it won't be SGA's last chance at this.

By the time his career is over, Gilgeous-Alexander sure seems like he'll be considered among the all-time greats.
