A new Aussie has entered the NBA ranks, and a familiar player has helped him score his first points.
After a losing skid saw Giddey's Bulls slip to a.500 record, Chicago coach Billy Donovan decided to spice up his rotation by giving former Illawarra Hawk Lachlan Olbrich his first ever NBA minutes.
The 21-year-old saw the floor for 11 minutes, providing solid contribution with two points and three rebounds. Despite limited action, his presence was felt, with the Bulls outscoring their opponents by 15 points in Olbrich's time on-the-court.
Giddey played a role in getting Olbrich his first minutes, with the all-star hopeful driving and catching the defence's attention, allowing Olbrich to cut inside for a reverse layup.

2 points, 3 rebounds, and a +15 in 11 minutes. A great first hit-out that should warrant more minutes going forward; screen setting, rim running, quick slipping/rolling has looked at the level.Pic.twitter.com/pyS7Sh3PdU

Unfortunately, the efforts of the Aussie duo were not enough for Chicago to hold off the Indiana Pacers, with the Bulls falling short by two points in dramatic fashion.
After an overturned goaltending call denied Giddey two crucial points inside the last two minutes, NBA champion Pascal Siakam would step up for the Pacers and put his team up by two points with just over a second remaining.
