Dante Exum has cemented his future in the NBA, re-signing with the Dallas Mavericks for the 2025-26 season.
The Australian will return for his third season in the Lone Star State, as he and the team look to carve out a new identity in the wake of the Luka Dončić trade.
Now 30, Exum has become a crucial part of the Mavericks bench unit, and that will continue this season as the team led by Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and number one overall pick Cooper Flagg contend for the title.
Dante Exum re-signs with Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have re-signed Dante Exum, seeing the Boomers star remain in the NBA for another season.
Exum's roster spot was freed up after the team waive-and-stretched Olivier-Maxence Prosper, allowing the team to keep the Aussie in Dallas after an injury-hampered 2024-25 season.
"The Mavs did not want to lose him. Dante Exum wanted to be here and the Mavs wanted him back," wrote NBA expert Marc Stein about Exum.
"The Mavs want to start next season with D'Angelo Russell & Dante Exum, two proven veteran guards."
Exum averaged a career-high 8.7 points per game across his 20 appearances last season, and will now remain in Dallas, the team that brought him back to the NBA in 2023 after two seasons in Europe.
