The last seven days have seen one all-star sized void on the Australian NBA scene, with Most Improved favourite Josh Giddey out of action for Chicago due to an ankle injury. Giddey missed two games for the Bulls, with his team losing both in his absence, extending their losing skid to four games.
Fortunately for Bulls fans, Giddey is expected back sooner rather than later. And fortunately for Australian basketball fans, there hasn't been a shortage in Aussie players in action over the last seven days.
So, here's how every Australian NBA player performed over the last week.
Aussie NBA Check-In: November 9-15
Dyson Daniels
The Atlanta Hawks are continuing to prove their capabilities in the absence of Trae Young, going 3-0 over the last week - and that's while Dyson Daniels is still struggling to get back to his best. Last season's Most Improved Player of the Year endured another tough week on the offensive end, totalling just 11 points across the three contests, and shooting a concerning 30 per cent from the field.
Importantly though, he's remained strong on the defensive side of the ball, hence why coach Quin Snyder has continued to show faith in him and play him big minutes. His best performance came in a big victory over the Sacramento Kings, as Daniels tallied eight assists, two steals and a ridiculous +38 in just 27 minutes of play.
Dyson Daniels stats per game (Nov. 9-15): 3 games, 31.0 minutes, 4.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 30.0 FG%, 0.00 3FG%
Duop Reath
Despite playing a pivotal role in helping Portland hand Oklahoma City their first and only loss of the season, scoring 12 points in 20 minutes, Duop Reath has struggled for court time since. That has been apparent over the last week, as in games against Orlando, New Orleans and Houston, Reath has only played a combined 15 minutes.
His most notable appearance came in the Blazers' blowout loss to the Rockets, where he hit a pair of field goals including a three to finish the night with five points on perfect efficiency.
Duop Reath stats per game (Nov. 9-15): 3 games, 5.0 minutes, 2.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, 75.0 FG%, 66.7 3FG%
Jock Landale
An already rough season got uglier in the past week for the Memphis Grizzlies, and it may have cost Aussie big man Jock Landale his starting spot. Landale had started in all of the Grizzlies' first 13 games of the season, but was demoted to the bench for the team's weekend clash with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as coach Tuomas Iisalo favoured the returning sophomore Zach Edey.
In three starts this week, Landale averaged 9.7 points per game, his best performance coming against Boston where he'd score 11 points, grab six rebounds and dish out four assists in his team's blowout loss to the Celtics. He would manage five points off-the-bench against the Cavs, but missed six of his eight field goal attempts.
Jock Landale stats per game (Nov. 9-15): 4 games, 24.3 minutes, 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 46.9 FG%, 27.3 3FG%
Luke Travers
The Cleveland Cavaliers were in action four times in the last week, with former second round pick Luke Travers featuring in half of those contests for the potential Eastern Conference champions.
Travers was called on by coach Kenny Atkinson for 12 minutes in the team's 14-point win over Miami, before playing a couple late minutes in the team's loss to Toronto. The 24-year-old was eager to impress in his minutes against the Heat, attempting five shots but hitting just one.
Luke Travers stats per game (Nov. 9-15): 2 games, 7.0 minutes, 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 steal, 20.0 FG%, 0.00 3FG%
Tyrese Proctor
Meanwhile, Travers' teammate, Tyrese Proctor, has been relied upon a bit more from coach Atkinson, but clearly still getting used to the speed of the NBA in his rookie year. The 49th pick in this year's draft played in three of the Cavs' games this week, his most noteworthy also coming against Miami.
In 23 minutes against the Heat, Proctor was also not shy letting it fly, as he attempted a career-high 15 shots, but was also inefficient as he only nailed four. Still, he helped himself to 12 points, connected on a couple of threes, and didn't turn the ball over while running the show off the bench.
Tyrese Proctor stats per game (Nov. 9-15): 3 games, 12.7 minutes, 6.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 28.0 FG%, 20.0 3FG%
